The
constituent colleges were controlled by the Governing Bodies
and the Principals were assisted in the internal
administration of the colleges by Advisory Bodies of
teachers. Subject to the University Act, Statutes &
Regulation, a Governing Body managed the Medical College.
The Governing Body of the Medical College consisted of the
following members:
1. The vice chancellor (Rangoon University), President
2. The Inspector-General of Civil Hospital, Vice President
3. The Principal of the Medical College, Executive member
4.}
5.} Three members appointed by the Burma government
6.}
7. One member of the council nominated by the council.
8. One member of the senate nominated by the senate.
9. One member of the college staff being head of a
Department nominated by the Principal.
10. One member of the college staff being head of a
Department nominated by the College Council.

Day
to day administration of the college was conducted by the
Principal who was appointed by the Chancellor of the
University on the recommendation of the Governing Body of
the University.
The
Surgeon, the Physician, the Gynecologist, the
Ophthalmologist, the Pathologist, the senior Anaesthetist,
the Radiologist and the Police Surgeon, of the Rangoon
General Hospital and the Director or Assistant Director of
Harcourt Butler University of Public Health were given
assignments for teaching the medical students in addition to
their primary duties. The assistants to the surgeon, the
physician, and the gynecologist were also assigned similar
duties.
